Policies & Discounts

· Check in 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Earlier arrivals MUST be prearranged in order to assure someone is here and the room is ready. I rarely do check ins after 8:00 pm but if I know in advance I can usually accommodate you.

· Check out 11:00 am. Late checkouts will only be approved if the room is not being rented later and MUST be prearranged.

· Please, no pets! Although we love animals, we simply do not have the facilities (inside or outside) for guests to bring them. I now charge $150 a night for animals that are smuggled in. You may see a few cats on the property, please don't let them in either!

· We have a strict NO SMOKING policy. Many B&Bs do not allow smoking on the property; however, it is allowed ONLY if away from other guests, open windows, rooms and breakfast area. There is an additional $150 daily charge for smoke in the rooms. Our smoke detectors are overly sensitive and are interconnected. When the cover is removed from one or when one goes off, the alarm is sounded in ALL the rooms. (Yep, found this out by accident)

· Remaining/full balance due upon arrival. Since I devote my morning to cooking and serving breakfast, I complete the check in upon arrival.

Although I rarely have a 3rd person in the room, the rate is $15 more.

Regarding children . . .

Some people choose B&Bs because many will not accomodate small children. At Sweetgrass, we have a unique set up that will allow a family to enjoy the B&B experience while assuring other guests the serenity they came for. (subject to availability)

Children under 12 years of age - In a separate building from where the other six B&B rooms are, I have two rooms, Rose of Sharon and Wild Rose. In these rooms I can place a couple with one child. I'm sorry but I limit these rooms to a maximum of 3 people. I have a portable crib for a very small child or a single-sized futon mattress for an older child.

Children 12 years old and over

Windflower - I can accomodate a couple with one child as the room has a full sized sofabed in addition to the standard queen bed. Sorry, but I will not place more than 3 people in this room.

Prairie Star - In the event there are two or three children, I can place them in this room which is right next to the Windflower -- there are 2 full sized beds in this room plus a roll-a-way bed I can set up if there is a 3rd child 12 years or older.

EXCEPTION . . . In the event a group wishes to rent the entire bed and breakfast for a family reunion, children can be placed in any of the rooms!

Regarding the rates . . .

· Daily rates include lodging and full breakfast

· Rates do not include tax - it's 5% here.

· Payment by cash or credit card (Visa and MC only).

· Checks are accepted ONLY if they are received 2 weeks before arrival.

· Cancellation fee of $25 applied if cancelled less than 2 weeks.

· Full room rate is charged for last minute cancellations or failure to cancel.

Rates/discounts do not apply during certain holidays, special events and the Sturgis Rally. Please contact us for further information (nonrefundable deposits apply). Deposits are to be made by check only, no credit cards or cash.
